After the Exhibition

- Allow students time to finish off their exhibition worksheet.  As a group discuss particular art forms and content viewed at the exhibition.

- Students use the information gathered in their exhibition worksheets to inform three appraisals of their favourite artworks viewed at the exhibition.  Encourage students to discuss visual art elements and interpret the artists intent for the work.

- Support students to reflect upon the exhibition and how art can be used to respond to contemporary issues.  Guide students to research current contemporary issues via mediums such as the internet and library resources.

- Support students to create visual art work of their choice which responds to the contemporary issue they have researched and chosen.  Ask students to collaborate their art works to display in a class exhibition in the school.

- Support students to participate in a 'think-pair-share' activity to discuss and critique the appraisals written following the visit to the Activism Through ART Exhibition.  Encourage students to use these discussions to improve future individual art appraisals.  Ask students to write an appraisal for their art work responding.  The appraisal should include the students intent for the work as well as their influences, elements, materials and methods used to complete the work.

- Ask students to individually complete the 'Learnt' column of their KWL chart.  Ask for student contribution to whole class discussion that will lead into students writing an individual reflection on their arts journey that addresses points listed in Task 6 on the student resources page.
